It seems that Acetaminophen has been linked to childhood asthma. This knowledge is a little late in coming for some people. My youngest son has had asthma since he was 18 months old, which was his first of four stays in the hospital, because of this disease. Although I would not be able to prove that I gave him Children’s Tylenol before then, I know I did. For whatever reason, be it teething or fever, it happened. If I would have known that I was possibly subjecting my son to a future of asthma, I would have obviously not given it to him, or any of my children.
It’s possible that taking Acetaminophen had nothing to do with him having asthma. After all, it has only be “tied” to asthma, and not proved to cause it. It could be a coincidence. Maybe it was the stress I was under while pregnant, or the mild asthma my husband sometimes has. Who knows? Is he sensitive to the milk he so loves? Is he allergic to something I’m not aware of? I just don’t know. What I do know is that I can avoid Acetaminophen in the future and research more natural cures and remedies for ailments.
