  • Resolutions – Step Two – Make My Own Baked Goods

The first resolution that I made, drinking broth daily, is off to a pretty good start.  For the last week, I have had at least one or more cups of broth most days.  We had a bit of a family emergency, so I wasn’t able to keep up with the broth that was in the slow cooker.  I need to get another chicken and start again.  (more…)

  • My Ideal Me

My ideal me is the me I always dreamed I would be.  It’s a picture perfect of what my life would look like if I had unlimited resources, like money, time, energy, etc.  What is ideal to me most likely isn’t what you would dream of as ideal, and vice versa.  That’s the beauty of having a dream; we each are entitled to one (or more), even if that’s all they are: dreams.

  • Family Movie Night on the Cheap

We have a family movie night once a week. The kids look forward to it every week. Most of the time we either rent a movie or watch one on demand through our cable subscription; other times we go to the theater and watch a movie there. I’m sure everyone is aware at the cost of going to the movies, these days. Even if you go to the early showing, ticket prices can be $6.00 per person, and if you go after 6:00 pm, it can go up to $9.00 or more! Forget seeing a 3D movie, because you’ll spend an extra $2.75 per ticket for the privilege. Figure this price for a family of 5, and you’re spending around $50.00 just for the tickets. Of course, you can’t go to the movies and not get popcorn and something to drink, so figure in another $20.00 or more! You’re simple evening of going to the movies is costing around $70.00, and you haven’t even had dinner!
